Inspection of tank bottom plate welds or shell to bottom plate welds of newly built or in-service tanks are recommended by API and other international standards in the tank inspection process.

InterTech provides highly productive and efficient vacuum box testing technique with vacuum box V750 for flat plate weld types, the design incorporates a 750mm weld inspection length , extremely rugged body, calibrated vacuum gauge and vacuum relief valve, internal LED’s to ensure correct visibility along the test weld.

Vacuum box V400D shall be used forinspection of shell to floor plate welds.

In Both V750 and V400D, the vacuum is generated by the use of an electric vacuum pump. The vacuum boxes are rated to 20 inch Hg (10psi/0.7 bar).
